Official Statement

MSIG Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited would like to inform customers that the Company’s travel insurance policy does not cover any loss or damage arising from war, which is classified as a General Exclusion under the terms and conditions of the travel insurance policy.

Accordingly, in the event of flight delays, flight cancellations, or any other incidents occurring either directly or indirectly as a result of war or civil unrest, coverage cannot be provided in accordance with the policy terms.

The Company fully understands the challenges arising from this situation and sincerely expresses its sympathy for the inconvenience, disruption, and concerns experienced by affected customers.

Special Assistance Measures for Affected MSIG Customers

1. Special Consideration for Financial Assistance

For MSIG customers impacted by the unrest in countries within the Middle East region* that resulted in airspace closures and prevented onward travel to their final destination, causing them to remain in the affected country during 28 February 2026 – 2 March 2026, the Company will provide special financial assistance of THB 2,000 per person to help alleviate hardship.

Customers wishing to request consideration are required to submit the following documents:

  • Boarding pass of the flight arriving at an airport in the Middle East region
  • Boarding pass of the flight departing from an airport in the Middle East region to the final destination
  • Other documents as required by the Claims Department, such as a completed claim form, identification documents, and full flight itinerary

All assistance will be subject to the Company’s criteria and discretion.

*Excluding countries listed under policy exclusions.

2. Special Extension of Policy Coverage

For customers currently traveling overseas whose itinerary involves transit through countries in the Middle East region and who are unable to return as scheduled due to the situation, the Company will grant a special extension of coverage for up to five (5) days from the original policy expiry date, without additional premium.

Such extension remains strictly subject to the terms, conditions, and scope of coverage stated in the policy.

The Company further clarifies that the above measures are granted as a one-time special assistance for this specific incident only and shall not be regarded as a precedent for future claims or other circumstances. The Company reserves the right to amend, modify, or withdraw these measures at its sole discretion without prior notice.
