Supporting Documents
Medical expenses (OPD or IPD)
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • A physician’s report stating the symptoms, diagnosis and the treatment given.
  • Original receipts of the medical bill showing itemised medical expenses.
  • A copy of the Insured’s passport.
  • A copy of bank book (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other documents as required by MSIG.
Flight delays
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • All air tickets, flight itineraries and boarding passes.
  • A letter certifying the delay issued by the authority that is responsible for the flight delay or by the concerned commercial airline.
  • A copy of the Insured’s passport.
  • A copy of bank book and identify card (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other document as required by MSIG.
Missing connecting flight
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • A letter certifying the travel misconnection and stating the reason of the misconnection issued by the carrier.
  • All air tickets, flight itineraries and boarding passes.
  • A copy of the Insured’s passport.
  • A copy of bank book and identify card (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other document as required by MSIG.
Loss of baggage and /or personal belongings
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • Letter certifying the loss or damage or “Property Irregularity Report” (PIR) issued by the carrier or the hotel management specifying details of the loss or damage if it occurred while under care of the carrier or hotel.
  • A police report or Police Register issued by the local police (in the case of theft with evidence of forcible entry into the hotel room where the Insured is registered as guest; or being seized, threatened, or violently assaulted to take away the baggage and/or personal effects in the baggage and/or golf equipment).
  • Photos of loss or damaged baggage (all items).
  • Details of loss or damaged baggage e.g. Brand, model year, purchased year and price.
  • Document stating paid amount from airline or hotel (if loss or damage was covered by the carrier or hotel).
  • A copy of the passport of the Insured.
  • A copy of bank book and identify card (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other document as required by MSIG.
Baggage delay
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • Letter certifying the baggage delay “Property Irregularity Report” (PIR) issued by the carrier.
  • Air ticket and flight itinerary.
  • A copy of the Insured’s passport
  • A copy of bank book and identify card (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other document as required by MSIG.
Trip cancellation or postponement
  • A completed claim form of the company (Travel Claim Form).
  • Original receipts of the travel agency or carrier, receipts for accommodations and meals stating the amount paid (after refund).
  • A physician’s report (in the case of serious injury or sickness of the Insured or of family members).
  • All air tickets and flight itineraries.
  • A copy of Death certificate.
  • A copy of the Insured’s passport.
  • A copy of bank book (to facilitate transfer of claim payment).
  • Other document as required by MSIG.
Other cases
  • Original completed claim form with Insured's signature
  • All air tickets and boarding passes
  • Copy of passport or ID card
  • A copy of bank book (to facilitate transfer of claim payment)

OIC Claims Payment

The normal time period for considering claims when MSIG receives all the necessary complete documents is usually within 30 days.

Claim payments will usually be made within 15 days from the date the claimant has agreed to the amount of compensation.

In cases where there is reasonable doubt regarding the validity of a claim according to the stated policy coverage, the time periods stated above may be longer but reasonable and no longer than necessary, usually not longer than 90 days from MSIG receiving all the necessary completed documents.

Remark: The above time periods are guidelines and are not legally binding. The consideration of claims shall depend on the terms, conditions and exceptions of each insurance policy. MSIG may ask for further information and supporting documents before concluding the assessment of any claim.

The latest update is according to OIC Notification: Rules, Method, Conditions, and Period of Compensation Reimbursement or Payment under the Insurance Contract, and Cases deemed as a Delay of Claims Payment or Refund Premium of the Non-Life Insurance Companies, B.E. 2566 (2023).
