MSIG Thailand Action Asia 50

08-2018
MSIG Thailand, with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Hong Kong Office) and Doi Inthanon National Park came together to hold the inaugural “MSIG Thailand Action Asia 50” event. The trail running event comprised three race distances - 50km, 34km and 14km and was held at Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai Province, which is better known as home to the country’s highest mountain, the 2,565-metre Doi Inthanon. The park has been dubbed “the Roof of Thailand” and covers an area of 482 square kilometers, or about one-third the size of Bangkok. Action Asia events are aimed at promoting sports and sustainable tourism and also to raise money for socially beneficial projects.
MSIG Thailand Action Asia 50 is one of several activities under our CSR Wellness Program that we run throughout the year. For this first event, over 30 enthusiastic staff participated in the grueling challenge to go above and beyond their personal limits and complete the run. We aim to support healthier, active lifestyles as we believe that wellness is an important part of building an engaged workforce. Moreover, funds raised from these events support other CSR activities such as building of dams and tree planting. Each participant donated USD10 and 100% of the proceeds went towards the purchase of trees for planting and materials for the construction of a water dam in the local area.
